The existing patio of this London garden was extremely restrictive with walls obscuring light and the main outdoor space beyond. The small terrace was not in proportion to the rest of the back garden, while level differences left it impractical to use.
HG Landscapes garden design services created an open plan terrace that welcomes views of the lawn and accompanying flower beds. By using a centrally positioned, single step we created symmetry while maximising the available outdoor space.
Without encroaching too far on the garden lawn, this patio provides an ideal space to relax and enjoy the sunshine – while the pergola, which we planted with a grape vine that will mature into a natural canopy, shade offers when necessary.
