This unique project we completed last year was a great challenge and very rewarding to work on. It was almost a 6-month process but the results are well worth all of the work. The project had a lot of fine detail and technical elements we had to contend with. There were a lot of people involved also. We worked very closely with the builders, the architects, the garden designers and the client to deliver a top-quality finished garden that we think does look amazing.
Nestled in the heart of Wimbledon Village the site is quite an unusual one. It is set back from the high street by quite a long private drive. The building itself is striking and unique without being overbearing. It is modern in style but is interesting in form and the Limestone cladding very much softens it. This joins in seamlessly with the Limestone paving we installed throughout the garden scheme in different shapes and sizes.
The garden is very much a key element of the overall project. The building is centralised and surrounded on all sides by the outdoor space. From inside the building there are several windows and view-points which all look out to the garden from various heights and angles to give a different pleasing perspective every time.
The Sunken Garden has to be our favourite feature of the overall scheme. Built in the former site of a swimming pool the sunken garden provides not only an attractive feature but also a peaceful sanctuary to sit and a great place to take in the surroundings. Framed in dry stone wall cladding and by 4 beautiful Umbrella trees it offers a very relaxing place to retreat to whilst listening to the burbling water feature. Another fabulous design by Cliare Mee Garden Design, built and maintained by HG Landscapes.
