This was a fantastic project for HG Landscapes. There were many different aspects to consider and a very large plot to work with. The design has a modern Scandinavian feel, as the client is from there, which made things very interesting, and made for something a little different. There was nearly 250m2 of stone work, both paving and cladding which was very involved. The stone is a grey riven slate and it does look really amazing, when wet or dry. There are very large planting beds and a good-sized lawn. As the plants are already growing in they are balancing and softening the hard landscaping, bringing the garden together as intended. It has a very majestic feel and can be viewed from a glass balcony from the house, giving a very pleasing perspective on the layout. The garden is on a large scale but has been kept quite simple making it very impactful to be in and to look at. There were a lot of challenges along the way but the results of the garden speak for themselves and the client and designer are both thrilled. It was tremendous fun and a pleasure to work on to create. A great design by Josh Ward.
